The most awarded and inspired French tenor sax player

Sylvain Beuf (ts) - Pierrick Pédron (ts) - Denis Leloup (tb)

Jean-Yves Jung (p) - Diégo Imbert (cb) - Franck Agulhon (dr)

NEW ALBUM TO BE RELEASED MARCH 2010

The most awarded and inspired French tenor sax player (French Awards "Victoire de la musique", "Djangos d'Or", Midem Talent, etc.) who has blazed an impressive trail through the French jazz landscape over the years (Martial Solal, André Ceccarelli, Aldo Romano, Bojan Z, Manuel Rocheman, Christophe Willemme, etc.), has built himself an image of a quiet and modest though extraordinary gifted musician: prolific composer, inspired soloist, tireless bandleader with a talent for the perfect choice.

Praised by the French press who already looked at him in the early nineties as a new Joshua Redman or Brandford Marsalis, Sylvain Beuf patiently built up his career on a path without fail, going for bold and adventurous projects rather than exploring the same track over again. More specifically known as the "magician of the trio", Sylvain has undoubtedly restored all the glamor Sonny Rollins gave to that especially challenging formula years ago.

But beyond the exemplary career, Sylvain beuf has built over the years a style of his own, made of a phrasing character, an original sound, the intensity and smartness of his writing, combined with the melodic appeal of the compositions and a unique way of making sound simple and accessible the most complex musical structures.

After his last album « Mondes Parallèles » (Parallel Worlds) based on a quintet, Sylvain Beuf comes back this time with a new "All-Stars" band « New Sextet » and a new album of titles especially composed for this perfect lineup.
