The explosive quartet of the New-York alternative jazz scene David Binney (as) - Craig Taborn (p) - Scott Colley (b) - Brian Blade (dr) |

|
Since he first started in the early 90's the hard-edged Lost Tribes and Lan Xang, the young musican who trained under Phil Woods, Dave Liebman and George Coleman has since then recorded more than 50 albums and played with the most impressive jazz legends (Aretha Franklin, Gil Evans, Marceo Parker, John Zorn, Chris Potter, etc.). In 2000, when Siegfried Loch, founder of the German label "ACT", got to hear David for the first time at the 55 Bar of New York, he was so literally thrilled that he immediately got him signed for two albums, including"South" (with Chris Potter) that received a tremendous feedback from the press and started up the European career of David Binney. Playing from basement clubs in New York to jazz festivals in Europe, David Binney stands out as one of the most original minds in contemporary music. With the impressive rythmical engine fuelled by Scott Colley (Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, etc.) and Brian Blade (Joshua Redman, Mark Turner), and the help of the always creative Craig Taborn resurrecting Hancock, Powell or Corea, David Binney is now performing one of the most challenging modern jazz of today's jazz scene.
