The fiery meeting of Argentina and jazz… Javier Girotto (sax) - Gerardo Di Giusto (piano) - Carlos 'el tero' Buschini (bass) - Minino Garaÿ (perc) |

Córdoba Reunión is the coming together of 4 top jazz musicians from the European scene who share a common origin… the city of Córdoba in Argentina, as well as the same passion for Argentine jazz. These four musicians revisit their own culture by bringing together improvisation and traditional Argentine rhythms (tango, zamba, chacarera, milonga, chaya). These rhythms in turn become the foundation of their improvisations. The end result of this gathering is an explosion of colors and sounds, of rhythmic force and tense interplay, moments of burning passion as well as melancholy. Javier Girotto, on soprano sax, bares his soul on the musical phrases, at the same time incantatory and fiery. His improvisations are sublimes of despair and poetry. Deeply rooted in the culture and history of Argentina, their music is a true homage to their homeland... Both intimate and stormy, it is nourished by tradition, only to purify and reinvent it. A wonderful surprise. In other words, there is nothing humdrum about them. Their music is free, breezy and proud, having nothing in common with the typical products that come out of "World Music".
